During this scanning mode, the Vox function can be activated. If no sound is detected by any of the cameras, the parent unit will turn off. You also have the option to manually turn off the display. If the display is off and a sound is detected by one of the cameras, the parent unit will immediately show the image from the camera where the sound was detected.
