A medium-format lokta paper notebook with a small-scale geometric tile pattern printed on a natural, undyed cover. The tile motif is repeating and even — closer to Moroccan zellige or South Asian block-print geometry than to freeform organic patterns. The natural paper tones keep it muted and earthy rather than decorative. Inside: 45 leaves of handmade lokta paper, unlined, with the slightly rough, fibrous texture of genuine Himalayan handmade paper. What Sets This Apart The "natural" cover is undyed — the background is the lokta paper's own warm, slightly creamy tone, with the tile pattern printed over it. You can see and feel the paper itself rather than a colour applied to it. Lokta paper is made from the bark of the Daphne Papyracea bush in Nepal. Tree-free, acid-free, naturally insect-resistant and durable. The bush regenerates within five to seven years of harvesting. Each sheet is hand-pulped, spread on wooden screens, and sun-dried in Himalayan villages. Expect visible plant fibres and slight thickness variations — marks of genuine handmade paper. Unlined pages suit journaling, sketching, and free-form writing. Rollerballs and fine-tips are ideal; pencil works beautifully; fountain pens may feather slightly. The Tile Pattern Mini tiles — small, repeating geometric shapes arranged in a grid-like pattern — are one of the oldest decorative traditions in craft. They appear in Islamic architecture, Hindu temple design, Moroccan interiors, and Nepali woodcarving alike. Simple shapes arranged in repeating sequences create visual complexity from basic elements.
